Brooklyn Area Service Committee of N.A.

The B.A.S.C remains committed to serve all the Groups in the borough of Brooklyn. We meet every third Saturday of the month at Glenwood Road & E37th Street in Brooklyn. We invite any and all members to join us as we serve. The New York City fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous has grown rapidly since our first meetings in 1981.

The increasing of meetings and groups created the need for service and so, in June 1983, the New York Regional Service conference (GNYRSC) was formed.

During that period, the groups of Manhattan joined Brooklyn and Staten Island to form one area conference (MBSI). By 1987, the groups of Brooklyn had tripled and it became apparent that our needs required more specific attention.

In the summer of that year Brooklyn Area Service Committee (BASC) was created. Have a specific question, concern or comment send us an email Our Primary Purpose To Carry the Message to the Addict Who Still Suffers Our primary purpose is to stay clean and to carry the message to the addict who still suffers.

We are united by our common problems of addiction. By attending meetings, talking and helping other addicts we are able to stay clean.

The newcomer is the most important person at any meeting, because we can only keep what we have by giving it away.

Narcotics Anonymous meetings provide an atmosphere of recovery where individuals can share their common problem and solutions. In our recovery we have found that living clean is very difficult without support.

The only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using. You don’t have to be clean when you get here. You don’t have to wait for an overdose or a jail sentence to get help from NA. Addiction is not a hopeless condition from which there is no recovery. We do recover.
